Carmel established Manaaki Wellbeing in 2001. She is the Founder of Atua Healing®, ACC Rongoā Māori Practitioner, Matakite Intuitive Visionary, Holistic Facialist, and Aromatherapist.

I was born in Tamaki Makaura, Auckland, New Zealand, in June 1962. I am a fourth-generation Matakite Rongoā Māori Healer.

I fondly remember my Koro Bill Gillibrand, who had in-depth knowledge of Rongoā. I was in awe of his Te kapehu whetū, the Māori star navigation compass. His whānau, the Subritzky’s of Houhora, Northland, were well-known for being seafarers and boat builders. He taught me so much about the Te Rongoā traditions of our iwi tribe and maintained our whānau with this knowledge.

My Grandmother, Ngamako Rapana, taught my mother, Maureen Cochrane, the Ngāphui Rongoā rākau, Honohono, so that she could help people and their pets. My Mother would always boil up Rongoā to put on my chilblains when I was a child.

My mentors in Rongoā outside my whānau were Kāhu Ō Rangi, Dr. Rangimere Rose Pere, and Paora Paul Andrews.

Over the years, I have taught Rongoā Rakau, Mirimiri, Te Hau, Mahu Whenua, and Honohono. I have run workshops on Waiheke Island, Auckland, USA, and Europe. I have been providing healing treatments to people from all around the world for over thirty-five years.

Carmel started her earlier career as a Beauty Therapist. Carmel has been an educator in Beauty, Bodywork, and Healing. Carmel also pursued many areas of study in natural therapies, reflexology, conscious connected breathing, ayurveda, vegetarian, and vegan lifestyles.

As a spiritual healer, Carmel developed Atua Healing®, which helps release deep-seated trauma at a cellular level without a person having to relive that trauma. In addition, she uses her innate abilities as an intuitive visionary or Matakite to give clarity and direction to clients on their life paths.

When Carmel isn’t in the clinic, she likes to cook up a storm in her kitchen and loves to hang out with her family and friends. Nature is her happy space.

Cindy has returned to Aotearoa after Living in Los Angeles. She has resided within the healing and moving arts all her life, with Dance being the first saving grace of her youth in the small town of Putāruru, New Zealand, with the premise that the only form of permanent healing is self-healing.

Cindy committed to studying healing in deep and mystical ways. Her studies have included bones, bodies, breath, sound, and movement through the Klein Technique, Yoga, Reflexology, Dance, Naam, Atua Healing®, Harmonyum®, Harmonyum Touch, and her soul's healing journey, with a physical and spiritually integrated practice.

Joshua is a Fifth Generation Matakite Rongoā Practitioner. He is of Māori and English-Jewish descent. He grew up in and around his Mother’s clinic and wānanga, and in the tradition of Rongoā, he was taught from a very young age.

Josh offers BMI scans to give detailed advice about your Body composition and plateau-breaking advice on achieving your ideal body composition. Many practical rapid weight loss methods can be used to see fast results, but overuse of some methods can negatively impact the body. Still, through the use of BMI monitoring throughout your weight loss journey, these pitfalls can be avoided.

I will guide you in understanding your BMI scan so you will know exactly when your body is telling you to pull back and adopt a different method. To break through the next plateau. I will share tips on how I lost weight through nutrition, such as keto and intermittent fasting. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, I have got you covered. I will share my exercise tips tailored to wherever you are starting on your journey or mid-way through.

There are starting guidelines that can help supercharge your weight loss journey and make your body more metabolically flexible. If you are in a more advanced stage in your exercise journey, such as hitting plateaus with exercise keto, intermittent fasting, or a skinny fat plateau, please refer to Joshua for tips to overcome these plateaus.
